{"id":933,"date":"2020-10-03T11:41:32","date_gmt":"2020-10-03T15:41:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.libertyunionparty.org\/?p=933"},"modified":"2020-10-03T11:41:32","modified_gmt":"2020-10-03T15:41:32","slug":"cannabis-for-the-99-rally-montpelier-october-4th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greenmountainpeaceandjusticeparty.org\/?p=933","title":{"rendered":"Cannabis for the 99% Rally Montpelier October 4th!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mailchi.mp\/c8cdef04d3fe\/operation-phoenix-rise-updates-2975310?e=02e1ffda55\">https:\/\/mailchi.mp\/c8cdef04d3fe\/operation-phoenix-rise-updates-2975310?e=02e1ffda55<\/a><br \/>\n<strong>JOIN THE RALLY!\u00a0 SUNDAY OCTOBER 4TH 2-4pm\u00a0 MONTPELIER &#8211; STATE HOUSE LAWN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">There is a cannabis bill on the Governor&#8217;s desk that would\u00a0create barriers for BIPOC and small local farmers and cultivators to enter the Cannabis market while favoring wealthy and established corporations.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>We are calling for all folks involved in the Cannabis industry and those impacted by the criminalization of Cannabis to unite in protecting Cannabis for all in Vermont:<\/strong>\u00a0Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC), farmers, providers, growers, and all those who believe Cannabis should be justly and widely available in Vermont.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>S.54, the cannabis bill currently on the Governor&#8217;s desk,\u00a0fails to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Address the significant and devastating historical, social, and economic impact Cannabis has on BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) and others harmed by the criminalization of cannabis.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Address the current impact systemic racism has on the cannabis industry<\/li>\n<li>Acknowledge the 1000+ registered Hemp cultivators and processors in Vermont<\/li>\n<li>Include the voices and concerns of local growers, farmers, and small businesses<\/li>\n<li>Provide access to folks who may not have the resources to spend on consultants, licenses, and equipment<\/li>\n<li>Provide a viable pathway for market access<\/li>\n<li>Enable a successful transition of Vermonters from the legacy market into the legal one<\/li>\n<li>&amp; much more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Come out and make your voice heard.\u00a0<\/strong>We must join forces to ensure that our first Cannabis taxation and regulation bill is fair and equitable for all Vermonters.
